Your right Caren that Democrats have a problem with Latino voters -- and I'm sure as many opportunities.

I have a few latin friends that politically are hard to fathom. They all like a "Strongman" running things from the top -- Biden is not this and is a non entity to them. Being referred to as Latinex doesn't do anything for them (except those parts of the coastal and intellectual set). They view themselves as American but also Columbian, Ecuadorian, Costa Rican etc. And to ALL, being referred to as Brown is simply insulting. Many are terrified of left wing regimes that have or threaten to take away their possessions and positions.

So. What can Democrats do?

Stop using the words socialism, Latinex and talk of Brown people. Don't phrase assistance programs as "entitlements" but rather as ways to "get ahead" and "become successful" in America.

Another idea (which I have even less evidence behind than above) is for Democrats to speak Spanish at every possible occasion. Even those English only candidates can include key phases in Spanish (just make sure they get it right -- I would have Kamala stay with English).

Best to you in the season. Always great reading your good work.
