A concern is that we have moved away from politics (although most believe we have too much).

Combat begins when we stop talking, or rather, listening. Since Newt Gingrich, the Republicans have been the epitome of this, and as a result, they have no actual policies on anything. A party platform is irrelevant to them.

Unfortunately, this mindset is contagious, and Democrats suffer from the same malaise. This is apparent in Biden's leadership, where the "back" replaces any future vision or aspiration.

This may be why you see the two parties as similar.
