You are being imaginative, Michael Fox.

Many talented observers, including Ezra Klein, have concluded that Joe Biden running for a second term is dangerous.

But people in comfortable positions of power don't move without a push. Few around Biden have the nerve for this, and most have settled into complacency.

Are the risks of a contested nomination at the convention less than staying with Biden? It's most unfortunate that even having to decide this.

The choice of nominee decided at a convention is narrow. They must be known and vetted, which would come down to Newsom, Whitmer (not well known), and Harris (a disastrous choice).

I wrote how to beef up the Biden ticket in "Biden Needs Help to Win 2024," I invite you to read.

Many thanks. Best.
