Hamas has lost its previous capability but won by being able to survive against the wishes of Israel to eradicate it -- which is unlikely, if not impossible.

Israel has placed itself in an undesirable position. It will continue in a semi-state of siege until it eventually deals with the remains of Hamas. And so Israel continues to pummel Gaza and create a humanitarian catastrophe not impressive to the rest of the world -- and its friend America.
