Yes Ahley and Edward, you are right. Politicians will easily shift to the popular flow.

Popular sentiment has enormous inertia which takes enormous effort and exhausting time to overcome. The good news is that once moving it continues to do so.

One way to push change along is to constantly point to the cost that each of us are paying NOW for not acting -- $2000 per household year? $3500? What will this figure be next year and the one after that? The issue has to be monetized and personalized.
