Wonderful Fiona.

I recall a TV interview, ages back, when I was still at school in NewZealand.

It was with Harold Macmillan, who seemed to be the eternal Prime Minister of Great Britain (everything is eternal when you're a kid). He was asked what he did to become Prime Minister, Macmillan replied that it was chance.

This to me (and probably why I retain the interview) was different from luck. Macmillan had always placed himself where things could happen. And he was hard working (I imagine) and talented.

Fiona Hill, I think of. Hard won chances -- and seizing them. Also risk as opposed to gamble.

Many thanks.
