William, you are accurate in your opening paragraph that Ron DeSantis is UNLIKABLE- a considerable handicap to overcome. Nixon was the only president in recent history in the category.

Donald Trump is hideous but likable.

Ron DeSantis has been given free rein in Florida, which wouldn't have happened if Democrats hadn't opted out of the state. It's difficult to reclaim territory left unprotected.
