Will Leitch, Joe Biden made the White House this time around by happenstance. The Democratic Party panicking because a self declared socialist looked pretty to seize the nomination reached for the old guy -- who at the time was off to meet St Peter. Biden was delivered the Presidency by a combo of Corona and an incumbent setting himself abaze. Democrats had set themselves up for a problem in 2024. This was then compounded when Biden chose Harris -- someone equally unfortunate on a campaign trail.
