What is standing in the way is that Democrats DON'T have sufficient senators (and house members) voted into office. It should never of been counted on that ALL senators will always vote with the majority of the party. If it were not Manchin and Sinema, it would be another two. Continuing this battle with them achieves little.

Concentration at the local level will help Democrats in the mid-terms. Shouting left wing favorites, sensible or not, won't help Democrats win votes across the country. It's difficult because Democratic presence at the local level has not been maintained and the void was simply filled by Republicans.
