Well written Chailuv Gidwani. You may well be right — about Bernie winning the Democratic Nomination, I mean. The support for moderate candidate (and they are all advocating progressive change in varying degrees) currently outweighs support for Bernie Sanders plus what remains of Elizabeth Warren. If the moderate wing can (do what it takes to) unite around a single candidate, then the race would become more competitive.

Mind you, there are some real downsides to Bernie getting the nomination, that you may look into. We could be stuck with another (and more dangerous) term of Donald Trump, for one. And, should Bernie win the Presidency, we may well have a White House that is in a continual state of siege (nothing being achieved apart from executive orders)— certainly both outcomes are nothing to jump for joy about.
