The Republicans became the party of obstruction going back to the Gingrich era. This removed them from politics -- the very purpose for their being in Congress. It has cemented them into permanent opposition and inability to govern.

To use Diana Bash's phrase describing the first Biden / Trump presidential debate, the House will become a "Shit Show." Although tempered, perhaps, by their not winning by the numbers anticipated.

Donald delivered the "moment" to the GOP, where history and future play no part. This is why the McCarthy House has no agenda (and the Republicans no platform) because ambitions, plans, and the future are irrelevant to them.
