Very decent article Kevin Donovan. Although world wide, and will surely play out in unanticipated ways, this pandemic it is more controllable than a war (a term in my mind used too often and not always accurate). An upside is that by the day we learn more and get a better grip of how to best management this ordeal. There will be points of realization and pain along the pandemic course which will fracture our social cohesiveness — when people begin to have loved ones seriously ill and dying, for instance.
Essential to the social cohesiveness is trust and honesty of leaders and most of all information. Unfortunately we currently have a commander-in-chief who is a novice in this arena.
This national (and international) experience hopefully will sheds light on the inadequate safety-net structure in the US — something that serves all people living in this country and not just those that it catches.
