As long as the prosperity continues wth more efficiency and fewer employees, the tax base would likely shift but remain -- from income tax to value added. The "out of traditional work" folk would still be a part of the economy by consuming. Of course they would have to be paid to do this -- and for peace to be kept.
That's where Andrew Yang fits into the picture. Although his $1000 per month would be too stingy.
The whole concept of "work" would need reprograming in people's heads.
I was once an assistant to a guy, brilliant and fantastic at making money. His wife and kids were the opposite -- they just spent the money he made. He confided in me one day "Kerry, that's system. And it's seems to work".
