To cut Obama some slack. There was NO appetite for Americans to get involved in another conflict. Those "deposits of trust" were NOT in the bank, having been spent on Afghanistan and Iraq. This to my mind was dreadful mismanagement of our resources as Syria warranted engagement of the U.S.
