A reckoning has to be made with what has taken place in no uncertain terms so that all are obliged to look. A powerful example of this was the public viewing of Nazi concentration camps upon rescue. The impeachment trial can provide some of this, but without Trump and especially his enablers agreeing that gross transgressions have taken place, then the healing (or Biden's unity) will always struggle.

If Biden can successfully get the vaccine out and the needed economic package, he will at least deliver an embrace to most Americans where we may be able to talk to each other again.
