Thoughtful article Hossein.

Religions and nations are only as good as the people within them.

And, leadership makes an enormous difference. Israelis had years of Netanyahu, a brilliant politician but divisive, short-sighted and self-serving. The Palestinians over the decades have had leaders from woeful to just awful. The U.S. had four years of Trump buffoonery, particularly on foreign policy and Britain has Johnson with his massive credibility gap. Putin is a dictator and Xi is moving to be one. Modi is competent but is bent on creating a one religion state. Bolsonaro and Obrador challenge each other for incompetency. And, we have a new Marcos in the Philippines.

How do we get good leadership? Individuals make enormous differences for bad but also good. The talent is not surfacing.

Making both our national and international institutions more robust can perhaps help because they span time.

Many thanks. Best to you.
