Putin understands force and anything short of pushing him back out of Ukraine would only result in him doing the same thing again at an opportunistic moment.
Ukraine initially should have been defended by the West from the get go regardless of not being in NATO. Certainly when Zelenskyy and Ukrainians showed their stuff. But there was a problem. America could not because we had zero public resolve for such an undertaking. That has since changed, but by how much? I'm not sure.
But we should be asking the question:
Are we safer from Putin's weapons of mass destruction by letting him linger in Ukraine or by ousting him using all the means available to us?
Putin's war is with the West. Ukraine is fighting for themselves and for us.
