The MAGA crowd never embraced the tech industry racing for change. They want the world to slow down and avoid being left out.

Any immigration, legal or illegal, heightens the fear of sliding into irrelevance.

A New Republican Party has the opportunity to significantly ease this fear of immigration (technology and trade). It could introduce a base income, an idea initially presented by the Right.

Of course, Trumpism would need to be flushed from the system and extraordinary leadership emerge. Although not impossible, the base income is likely more difficult for Democrats to bring about.
