Biden increased the Tariffs on Chinese-made EVs from 27.5% to 100% to preempt Trump.

Curiously, Janet Yellen stated that the increase would have little effect on prices when, in reality, they would make EVs $10,000 to $20,000 more expensive for Americans.

There is no security argument for EVs having to be manufactured in America. The chip one is dubious.
