America must be vigilant and agile because opportunities for a stable and developing Syria (and the Middle East) will appear and disappear.

Unfortunately, neither of our two presidents is prepared to lead. Trump tweets that this tectonic shift in the Middle East is not of American interest, and incrementalist Biden sulkily runs out of time.

Because of Iran's further weakening, this is an opportunity for a vastly improved American relationship.
