There is confusion and misunderstanding. While being loud gets immediate attention it is not evidence of strength. The reverse can be true -- a cornered defensive animal is the noisiest perhaps because acting ferocious at that moment will do the trick and save them. It's possible that politicians do the same thing -- attacking a jounalist instead of answering the question etc. Expressions of terror that occupy the moment now fill more of our time -- captions, highlights, sound bites and snapped images. On stage theatre and not the real world. The here and NOW take over of the day.
