Compensation for writers and other artists is mixed and generally on the poor side.

We benefit enormously by surrounding ourselves with prose, poetry, color, rhythm, melody, tone, etc. Not to mention perspective, context, history, and place.

We connect through writing and the arts and are lonely and insecure without them.

A basic income for Americans would provide a platform for more artists and audiences.
