Susie Kearley, your arguments make sense to allow asylum seekers to work.
Like most countries in the rich world, the UK resists immigration to the detriment of its prosperity. Fear of immigrants is primarily what landed the UK with Brexit. The pain is being felt now and will take decades to recover -- if it ever does.
Should an immigrant take a job from a UK native, it doesn't matter, as this can be corrected. Many immigrants rapidly become employers.
Many thanks. Best.
I invite you to read "Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! Cry the Politicians," which says we should be more concerned about productivity.
