Sikander,

Democrats will lose by keeping the Biden/Harris ticket, so there's little to lose by a change, even at this late stage.

Fixating on one particular Biden replacement can be a mistake. An open and all-engaging process will lend credibility and more support to the chosen nominee, even if time is tight.

It doesn't matter if the process looks chaotic and harrowing. The debates, interviews, town halls, and speculation will generate excitement, invigoration, and voter turnout -- while removing media attention from Trump and the Republicans.

Getting Biden removed is difficult because he's unlikely to cooperate -- and the longer he stays put, the more difficult this will become.

The option remains to replace Harris with a communication wizard who can get Biden across the finish line and be capable of taking over as president -- Pete Buttigieg would be perfect. I discuss this in “Biden Needs Help to Win 2024.”

Best.
