But Israel must resist a ground campaign in Gaza as this is what Hamas wants. Israel will become entangled in a bloody slog, quickly turning against them and possibly allowing Hamas to take hold in the West Bank.

Israel should secure the border with Gaza and continue to work with other Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, and the new agreement, which includes the Palestinians. Same with the U.S.

The likes of Netanyahu need Hamas and the Iranian regime to keep them in power.
