You may be generous when saying that Republicans exalt performance over substance. Their voices have become detached from any anchor of reality and float as interference to legitimate messages. We have created a land mine or worse poison gas which can drift in any direction hurting who knows.

I always was, but even more so today, highly suspicious of religious belief when moved into public. Belief, along with flag and even the US constitution too easily become protective fortresses from which to attack others -- the danger of unquestionable shelters.
