Sensible stuff Alan S. Miller.
There is also personal responsibility in how we see ourselves in our whole world transitioning to green economies. We have local, state and national policies in which we can actually play a part. It's amazing what individual voices can achieve.
There are some common misunderstandings that work against successfully managing climate. One is that it's primarily a matter of retraction of our lives and economies. That the answer is slowing our economy, become self supplied and even reduce immigration (I wrote a short piece "Immigration and Climate Solutions Are Related").
America could afford to step up its productivity. To pay the enormous cost of transforming the U.S. and world (with the help of other rich countries) to green economies. This won't happen if we continue to hamper our engines that gave us our prosperity in the first place -- the big engines being innovation, trade and immigration. Letting these work properly will pay for climate (and possibly some more).
We will better meet the challenge of Climate in an open and prosperous America rather than one closed and simply maintaining the status quo.
We will also be further towards our goal if individuals, families, businesses and communities do all the things that you so well suggest.
Many thanks. Always helpful.
