While not a total solution the UBI (which needs to probably double what Yang was proposing) would do plenty. The Black population would bennefit enormously. And such a program would be vehemently opposed because of this out of spite (Heather McGhee and her swimming pool example).

The objective is NOT equality of income and wealth but the equality of opportunity. By the Federal Government placing $2000 / month in the pockets of every adult in America the consequencies would be enormous. First poverty would be instantly gone, but it would allow ALL to buy healthcare, education and housing. Existing welfare programs including farm subsidies would be rolled into the UBI.
