ScottCDunn, student loan forgiveness is problematic. Forget the unfairness aspect because that doesn't matter much. But this legislation does nothing for the future, correcting the fundamental issue of the cost of college education and how it is paid.

We will return again in five years for the subsequent forgiveness. Some short-term inflation is caused, but the longer-term inflation is more serious. Schools will receive a big chunk of this payout with even higher fees. They are given shelter, NOT to reform and adapt their ways to a changing world.
