Scott C Dunn, it doesn't really matter who is financing our national debt, apart from them continuing to do so.
The relevant question is the cost of borrowing money. At the moment it remains extraordinarly low but that can change. As long as supply is satisfying demand we are OK. If not, then borrowing to meet our spending becomes so much more expensive and can bite.
I'm sorry, I don't get your connection with whether or not a country is a socialist one.
