Sarah Miller, you are accurate on many counts.

The Democrats have contributed to the division of America over the years by withdrawing from small-town and rural areas. They shifted people and resources to where they were more likely to win, the coasts and big metropolitan cities.

But there was a cost. Many voters across America felt abandoned and were embraced by the Republicans. Not that the Republicans offered much, but a relationship is better than none.

The Democrats have recently made the same short-sighted mistake in Florida. They withdrew support instead of holding a position. The result was that a swing state went Republican.

I invite you to read my piece on Sanders, "We Need Bernie --Whether We Agree with Him or Not."

Many thanks.
