Richard Roberts, thoughtful article.
Public inertia is enormously difficult to overcome. Look at the effort and resistance addressing simple infrastructure here in the U.S. (and this had common agreement that it was absolutely in our best interests).
Progress on climate at COP looks woefully inadequate but it is momentum that can be built upon. It's both important and disappointing.
Real anxiety exists with transition. Particularly filling the energy gap left by fossil fuels. Some real (as possible) plans have to be made and sold. We can't simply stop using oil as Greta Thunberg suggests. Big innovations have to come about and private enterprize has an enormous role with government underwriting.
It's a very exciting time because we are leaping into a whole new world of how we live. Getting folk to embrace the new is always challenging but not impossible.
Many thanks.
