Riad Kherdeen, it depend what we take capitalsm to be. If we mean it to be the easy flow of money, goods and people to be more efficient with our resources of natural ones and talent, then capitalism can be very helpful at managing climate change.

We need prosperity to move us to a safer place regarding climate. The changes will not be cheap and unless we wish to throw away our laptops and return to subsistence farming or worse, back to caves, then I don't think we have much choice.

Are we going to tell the folk in countries with developing economies to just stop -- while we remain in our protected, privilaged enclaves. Maybe not.
