Relying on Donald Self-Destructing is a Dangerous Proposition

I refer to the New York Times excellent article by Frank Bruni “Trump Self Destructs”.

“And he’s going to get re-elected”

“Not a day goes by without several friends — Republicans as well as Democrats — saying that to me. It’s blunt coda to a bloated recitation of Donald Trump failures during this pandemic. It is a whimpering of surrender following a scream of disbelief.” — Frank Bruni

Frank Bruni, you point out credible ways that Donald can fail to win the election. Fine and good, but to rely on your tennis opponent to double fault serves is not a strategy to win — in any sport, business or Presidential election. The game must be won. Unfortunately we have a guy in Joe Biden who is not up to speed and the gymnastics in your article suggests that if only we position the bar even closer to the ground, then Joe Biden will clear it into the White House. It won’t happen. At this point we need to be shaken into some honesty. Tucker Carlson was bang-on when he declared that Biden “couldn’t navigate a salad bar” — he couldn’t. So Democrats, wake up and get Joe out of the way — a note from his doctor to be excused from continuing the race may do the trick.
