All major industrialized nations have for-profit healthcare, although this is especially apparent in America, where giant corporations dominate. Even the NHS in the UK is profit-motivated; otherwise, it wouldn't exist. To find nonprofits, we would have to return to the time when churches ran hospitals as charity institutions.

That said, our healthcare costs are almost double those of Europe. We are no healthier, and there are gaps in coverage, especially with maternity and children.
