Xi Jinping and China are important, if not essential, components of getting the Putin, Russia and Ukraine beyond this tragedy. More skilled effort needs making in that direction. It would all be plus.

Unfortunately, our relationship with Xi Jinping and China has been deteriorating because of our own misguided behavior of steadily building a wall between our two countries. A wall cheered on by the crowds. The best defense (or most secure position) to China is for America to be uncomfortably close to them -- like up their nose. This is certainly counterintuitive and is NOT weakness as many would declare.
