Paul Abela, your article is thoughtful and raises essential questions.

Moving from a growth economy is unnecessary as long as prices reflect their true costs. We have not done a good job with this, especially with carbon, water, rainforests, etc. We can have growing economies while using less of our resources.

For our address of climate change to be successful, the rich countries, led by America, have to get the living standards of the developing world up to speed -- reliable electricity, water supplies, basic infrastructure, etc. This will not happen if you and I are not prospering and striving for our aspirations.
