The left of the Democratic party have been enormously successful at moving American attention to a society more just and concerned with its people. Bernie, particularly, was instrumental in pointing to issues of inequalities of healthcare, education etc. and that they all need fixing. Biden, Democrats and even Republicans all moved left because of this. We certainly didn't need Bernie as President however.

The "Trumpian Lunacy" may have evolved because a group of traditionally powerful Americans were losing their grip to folks that did not look like them -- women, blacks, gays, latinos, immigrants and non-christians. The "god-send " of Donald delivered both liicense and protection for many Republicans to gather in hatred targetted at these populations poised to take power -- I wrote something of this in "Donald's Ship Needs Sinking -- to the Bottom!" here on MEDIUM and would welcome your comments.
