Nicholas Kristof, I enjoy your writing enormously.

You are rare in being able to embrace folk of different lives and educations. We often identify ourselves by our schooling and expertise. All perfectly valid, but we don't have to limit ourselves to these worlds. With imagination (which you have tons) and USING our learning we can improve the lives of many as well as better our own. Bravery plays a part.

I think of the great tragedy wealthy countries inflict on people in poorer ones. They stop them from entry. An equal tragedy is the loss of their own prosperity and well being as a result.
