Public attitudes can change with education and communication athough it often seems like eternity. I suspect that the change of fashion away from hats favored the welfare of egrets and a ton of others birds. Beavers too could relax.

Different, but some similarities. Internal combustion engine cars I believe will be dropped like hats. The roar and rattle, apart from the unpleasantness of gas and exhaust fumes, is already understood as noise.

Imagine cities where traffic is almost silent. And, soon electric cars will be appearing on the race track -- and winning. Like the single hull in America's cup racing -- it was gone overnight.
