Mitchell, Zelensky has said it would come to a negotiated settlement. So Biden saying this is no shock.

If Putin is given a win with Ukraine, he will continue. Putin should have been discouraged and stopped before by the West, but he was not. We are now paying a premium for that.

We can't go for a signed piece of paper from Putin when it isn't worth anything. We are kidding ourselves.

We should have had all the full might of NATO assembled before Putin placed a foot in Ukraine. But we didn't because the West had spent that public enthusiasm on previous adventures like Afghanistan and Iraq.

So we are now where we are.

America needs to define the outcome and do whatever it takes to achieve that. If the security of Europe and most of Ukraine can be achieved by Putin hanging on to parts of the Donbas and Crimea, then so be it. If security can not be achieved with this, then Putin needs to be pushed from all the existing territory of Ukraine.

My gut feeling is that Putin has to be removed from Ukraine.
