Mike Weisser, this is dangerous thinking for Democrats.

Democrats should be looking forward to a formidable opponent and use this motivation to get their act together.

Namely, replace Joe Biden with someone younger and more talented to take America into an exciting future. Kamala Harris has proven herself not that person. But the party has a ton of talent from which to choose.

Buttigieg is an obvious choice, and many others, including Senator Murphy of Connecticut, LA Mayor Garrett, and Booker of NJ. I'm not sure who is from the left-wing. Sanders is too old, and any to his left would never make it in a general election.
