Michelle, the cost of telephoning has plummeted compared with income.

In 1900, a writer for The Economist stayed a few nights at the New York Plaza Hotel. And he made a few calls to his girlfriend on Long Island. The bill for the calls was higher than for the hotel. In contrast, today's call price wouldn't be noticed, and the Plaza? $500 to $600 with a deal.

Best.
