Michael, the student loan forgiveness issue is a consequence of some fundermental inadequacies of our education system as you well point out. I see the cost and waste involved incur higher education system that we continue to encourage.

Going forward (and this broadens the subject even further) instead of pouring money into schools directly that we finance people themselves to spend on higher education (should they wish) in a market. It would essentially be one of the options available to all in America as part of an economic platform. Some kind of pretty generous basic income.

The universities, polytechnics and training facilities would serve those "customers" and would have to deliver for a price and otherwise be competitive.
