Mathew Davis Anderson, excellent article.

As horrendous as the Hamas attack, it brought opportunities for solutions that, unfortunately, have not been recognized or seized by the leaders involved.

Netanyahu is self-interested, and Biden is mediocre if not dimwitted. The American President (and America) has fallen into the folds of a Middle East war.

There is no shortage of scholarly and articulate opinion proclaiming that the Israeli incursion into Gaza is the worst of actions that will not deliver security or prosperity to Israel or the region.

A few excellent voices are Thomas Friedman, Nicholas Kristof (NYT), and Fareed Zakaria (CNN and Washington Post). Richard Haass (Amongst many in Foreign Affairs) and The Economist have at least a dozen articles plus guest writers on the subject.

Also, comments to Editorials in major American newspapers have, to my impression, been that Israel's pummeling and ground attacking Gaza is counterproductive.

Many thanks. Best.
