MartinEdic, the Republicans have removed themselves from policies and politics. It isn't something that just happened. We can go back to the Gingrich years, if not Nixon's (Nixon himself was very interested in policy).

The Republican Party is doing no one a favor. The House is out of commission, which is not helpful to America.

Ironically the Republicans have opportunities available to them which could move America forward should they form a NEW Republican Party and have outstanding leadership.

A NEW Republican Party could initiate a Basic Income for all in America (Milton Friedman favored this) and champion immigration and international trade. They could move the emphasis from JOBS to PRODUCTIVITY. These are more difficult for Democrats to achieve.
