Lauren, very passionate in your writing but I can't help thinking that would expand your readership should you not bite those who are trying to promote your ideas.

Your guy Bernie has been extraordinarily successful in uncovering many of the ills of this country -- enormous credit to him! That said, he twice failed to win the Democratic nomination because of lack of support -- we do still live in a Democracy and the "purity" thing is not going to be a winner -- and it shouldn't because it can be just as dangerous as Donald.

Pete (and, I'm pretty sure Bernie would agree) is one of the most talented to surface from the Presidential race. He is someone who can move parts of your agenda forward. Not all, because parts have neither public support and others such as protectionism (eg. Bernie has never found a trade agreement he would sign) and more centralization of power are counterproductive policies.

We want to utilize all the great talent to shape the future before us. The China issue is a biggy and the likes of Pete to represent us there makes sense because he has the acumen, is politcal with an astute vision of the world we live in. That Pete was deliverered to us from a small town -- so what, all the more credit to him.
