Lauren Martinchek, take a deep breath and pretend that there are people of all different colors trying to honestly come up with good solutions. Just because Republicans offered the “direct payment” concept, to get cash in the hands of people in need, it is no reason to be adverse. Instead, be generous — give Mitt Romney, Steven Mnuchin (and even Donald Trump) credit, and then double the amount and takeover ownership of this winner — Bernie has put his best foot forward. If Democrats can champion and deliver payments directly to people it will help them as well as people. To not do is to squander precious time as well an energy. Forget pursuing agendas not immediately related to the current crisis, as winning this will position well to achieve other goals — the extraneous stuff can wait (Senator Warren, take your student loan forgiveness to another venue). The Democrats have this opportunity to scoop the politically day— what more could you ask of God?

The idea came from Andrew Yang — photo washingtonpost.com

Democrats have the spectacular knack of taking something and making it into nothing.

The recent grand example of this is that from an unprecedented number and diversity of talented candidates for the Presidential Nomination, Democrats have managed to finished up with a tired old man of diminishing wits (arguably not too many in first place) for the job. Bravo!

Anyone seen Joe Biden?

I write more in my article “The Democrats Are Masters at Making Nothing from Something” and would welcome your comments Lauren.
