Lauren Elizabeth, your take from Nancy Pelosi's words is an interesting one.

While I'm not inside Nacy's head, I don't think she meant how you interpreted it. The Republican party today is dangerous because it's WEAK, and not strong. The list that you offer as strengths, such as rallying around a psychopath, are displays of a party without purpose and function -- they are floudering! (And, quite possibly need to calapse before moving forward).

Pelosi is wishing for a sound opposition -- and, one that is not nuts. A strong Republican party, apart from the democratic balancing of ideas and power, would offer security and a sensibility that is conducive for Democrats to do business with. At the moment this is almost impossible because the opposition party is so sick.

Many thanks
