Lauren Elizabeth, yes that is happening and very unhealthy for the future of all of us. The dispararity of income, wealth and (because of these) opportunity was the big one before and now made considerably worse because of Covid. Covid (with help from Donald) made this much more visible though and that can be taken advantage of at this time as opposed to slipping back into the same old. I wrote a brief piece "The Slackers on Unemployment" and I invite you to read.
Laura Ingraham (and the like) desperately want all of us back into the same old or as others more mildly mannered would say "normal".
We need to get more wherewithal into peoples pockets so they go after their aspirations -- what ever they maybe. We have a history of wasting talent that actually can improve ALL lives -- including those that are now educated, wealthy and think they have everything. The vexing element is "spite" and we have to come up with sum way to be overcome this (or at least pushed back) for us all to move. That's a tough one because it's everywhere (Heather McGhee illustrates the damage this can do in her book "The Sum of All of Us" -- which has all kinds of lessons).
